Audio Production

My own work!

I absolutely adore getting lost in the creative process of making my own artworks using Logic! Since inspiration usually strikes me late at night, my music tends to be predominantly synth-heavy. My experiences in sound design have given me a unique ability to create very atmospheric sounds in my music. This particular track was recorded early one morning. I was trying to capture a vocal take, but the birds outside my window were ruining it. So, I decided to structure the entire track around their chirps and tweets.

Manchester Pipe Band

This was my first time recording a bagpipe band. The band I play in was incredibly gracious and allowed me to record them during one of their rehearsals. It was actually quite simple. I simply set up a stereo pair of microphones and then mic’d the specific parts I wanted to capture, such as the drums and the Pipe Major’s chanter. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I hope to continue recording pipe bands in the future!

Stattic

Stattic has undoubtedly been my most cherished band to collaborate with! I relish working with brass and woodwind instruments, and it was an absolute delight to work with such a gifted horn section. The post-production process truly allowed me to express my creative passions. I employed EQ and minimal reverb to enhance the natural sound of Chandler Creedon on saxophone and Rockwell Valentine on trumpet. Moreover, I appreciated the challenge of working with my first rap vocalist, Joey Soprano. Not only is Joey an exceptional rapper, but also a genuinely wonderful person.  I'd also be remiss not to mention their drummer, Evan Wood, who is the future of Connecticut's music scene!

Wavy McGrady

I’m incredibly proud to present my work with one of my favorite bands and personal friends. This was my inaugural production at WHUS, and the setup was typical for a four-piece band. Moreover, it was my first time operating the mixing console for a live rock band. It was incredibly gratifying to apply the knowledge I’ve gained from bedroom recording to a real band! The video, as well as all other WHUS videos on this page, was filmed by André Mastandrea, the multimedia director at WHUS.

Bill Bartholomew

This studio session was remarkably similar to my solo guitar sessions in my bedroom. I used the standard SM58 and SM57 microphones, but I also positioned a couple of Neumann small-diaphragm condenser microphones overhead to capture the room ambiance and enhance the track’s soundstage. It was a relatively straightforward project, and I was thoroughly delighted with the outcome.
